i have come to a conclusion that a great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself from within. in the case of my country Nigeria, the so called leaders have come to a point where they don’t know more than to destroy the country for their selfish reasons.
Nigeria as a country was doing well in the past with money made from the agricultural sector. then came the discovery of oil, shortly after that the oil wind fall. every human in their right senses would say the oil discovery is the begin of a greater Nigeria that is putting the agriculture and oil money together to build a greater Nigeria. that has not been the case. things have moved from bad to worse.
the discovery of oil just brought out the greed and selfish way or our leaders; embezzlement, hunger for power all the evil money attracts.
it is so sad to say that until this day in my country Nigeria, we still don’t have constant light, good road and above all good infrastructure. to top it all up the agricultural sector can be said to be forgotten or dead, all because our leaders prefer to embezzle oil money, which is quick to steal and involves more millions.
what ever happened to agriculture in Nigeria!? all the livestock farming, fisheries, vegetables and so on. everyone is turning a blind eye to all that. the only thing i hear in Nigeria nowadays is barrels of oil, which might soon come to a an end.
all we citizens of Nigeria ask is for the leaders to provide us, the citizens with basic amenities, e.g good standard of living, constant light, because we are amongst the few countries left with no constant power supple, and good roads. minimum wage is nothing to write home about. all this leaders travel overseas and they see how things are done, but refuse to upgrade the standards in their country. how sad is that. then they open their mouth and say all Nigerians staying overseas should come back home. come back home to do what?
now they ask us to vote during the elections; for what and for who? they want us to vote for another joker who will waste our time for another 4 years. i suggest Nigerian constitution should change for now. any president elect should be given a time frame of 3 year and he should state just one thing he plans to do for the country. we are tired of reading and listen to long list of promises. after his 3 years, he should be assessed, if nothing done he should be kicked out with no benefits and a new person should take his seat.
In my opinion Nigerian government is a joke.
